ON|OFF London Fashion Week.

DAY ONE.
Saturday 21st February.

Whilst most people in the world were probably resting their pretty little heads on their cosy pillows, I, at 5am, was waking. Sleepy eyed, and worried about getting out of bed in fear of waking up the guy beneath me, I lay in bed for a little longer then I probably should have. Once I realised other people were up I decided to go for the kill. I jumped out of the bed as quietly as I could, and got ready in my all black "scruffs", put my face on, and did my hair. Breakfast was a nutrigrain bar and a banana, not usually my cup of tea and such early hours but I knew I should eat something.
The three of us walked to the Natural History Museum and went to the 'Group Entrance' where we were told to meet everyone. We signed in, and got name badges from the museum to prove we were allowed to be where we were, and what we were doing etc.
The 6.30 start was truly a killer, considering the whole day was based around unloading the lifts that seemed to be jam-packed with various goods which consisted of- chairs, tables, Catwalk blocks, plinths, mannequins, water bottles, tea, spoons, anything you could possibly need! It was hard work, but it had to be done, that's why we were there!...
Later on in the day, I painted a table (that was already black..) black again!
By 10.30 I was ready for lunch, which was not right, my body clock was completely screwed up from this majorly early start, my poor brain...
At 12.30, a friend and I were asked to hand out ON|OFF newspapers in a different area to South Kensington (which is where we were), we were asked to go to the Topshop Unique show, which was in one of the universities at Baker Street by Madame Tussuad's. We managed to hand out around ten newspapers probably?, it's harder then it looks! It was also quite embarrassing. Instead we ended up recycling a whole load of them to look as if we had got rid of more then we actually managed! At least it was a good deed right? We came back for 3'o'clock where we had a briefing for tomorrow's antics.. by this time I was shattered, and completely ready to go back to the Hostel (believe it or not).

The briefing talked about how to dress the models (some of the basics)-
1) Ask questions- even if they are silly, ask anything so that you know you will get it right.
2) Some of the models may be moody, but just try to lighten up the mood, make them laugh?smile?..
3) If you are unable to do up a button/bow/zip in time, put the model in line and someone else will double check the outfit before they go on the catwalk.
4) Pay attention to how the stylists say the garments should be worn, bow to the left or right, buttons all d
one up, tights etc..

By 3.20, we were finished for the day. It definitely seemed a lot later then this, and I needed some rest, it was a hectic day and my legs and muscles were killing me.
I was looking forward to Sunday, the day we actually got to get stuck in on the backstage action. There would be lots more excitement then there had been on the Saturday and I thought there would not be as much sitting around...(which I later found out to be very wrong..)

Later on, around 6.30 we were allowed to sneak into one of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout shows, which were being held in our hostel and because a friend of mine said that she wanted to watch, the bodyguard snuck us in.
This was the highlight
of the day, and heightened my excitement for Sunday and the shows!
