Toile Review

TOILE REVIEW

Okay, so today has been a little bit of a joke, I come in at 9.30am, thinking the whole of our class have to be in for the whole day... maybe not! literally there were 3 of us in total, and the people who had signed their names up for the beginning of the day to get their reviews over and done with hadn't even turned up! Tsk, felt sorry for the teachers waiting about, but as it got to about 10.30, they decided to get us seen as we were there, I was used as the model for the first girl that went in, which was okay as I wasn't really doing anything, but then people were slowly starting to roll in and I seemed to be the only tall person that was likely to fit any of their garments, so suddenly I became the surrogate garment wearer, which I didn't mind to begin with, but when I got to like the 5th person I began to feel a little used, ha! I joke really.
Anyway finally it came to my turn to have my toile review, this was at 12.30, just before lunch, I luckily sneaked in before my actual time which was at 2pm, but still had to wait around to 1.30 anyway to model for my friend (which I had already agreed a few days before- so this was my own doing!). I feel my toile review went really well, overall they liked the shape of my jumpsuit, and their were no major changes that needed to be done, only a few small and minor ones that we agreed on-
  • Lengthen the legs- making them baggier and longer.
  • Make the hood slightly less baggy- maybe? do samples to test out.
  • Change the zip to the left side (accidently cut out on the right duh!)
The only criticism  I got was from one of my tutors and she said she didn't like the colour of my fabric, but as I had already bought it,there is not much more that can be done, plus i like it! (and I told her I did and she said it could work), I don't think this was a major issue though.
So all in all, it went quite smoothly, and I was happy with what my tutors said to me!
Now i'm looking forward to my week off, where i'm going to concentrate on my sketchbook work, and my outfitting for buying and merchandising, i'm also going to change my pattern a little so that i'm ready to start the construction of the real thing a.s.a.p.

CIAO FOR NOW.
