Traces project so far..

Where have you been?!

I have not written on my blog for a while as I don't have any new work to share. I am at the moment currently working on my trendbook, which I would prefer to keep a secret until it is completely finished, its more fun that way..

I will though, share my themes for it, which I have chosen to be-

Origami (Our theme for the Traces project)

Untamed

Enchantment

Treasure

These four themes will be explored in my trendbook looking at styles, trends, colours, (A/W09) fabrics and other inspirational images that I may find relevant or that suit the theme.

Traces Project so far... Our team project "Traces" is coming along well, AND we have a new member who has joined which is a textiles student called Sam from another FdA course at the Arts Institute. Sam will be working alongside mainly the designers but also us promoters to create fabric that can be used within the designs of the jackets. Sam has decided to concentrate on childhood memories as her theme for fabric manipulation.

Currently my job within the project is to create a business plan with my fellow promoter. The business plan will include:

Name of our collection (which is undecided at the moment, maybe Songe?-French for 'Dream'?)

Market Analysis based on the two outfits that will be submitted to the competition

and

Projected Budget, so MONEYMONEYMONEY!

Whilst we are working on this the designers have chosen and discussed their proposed Jacket designs with the rest of the group and tutors. They are now working on their Toiles for the review which is in 2 weeks time, eek!
